Fees
Barrymore Medical Centre is a mixed billing clinic. Face to face consultations Bulk Billed (paid on behalf of Medicare) or incur fee with a $30 GAP fee. Appointments are able to be booked online or over the phone.
Appointments are always treated as priority, please be aware there may be a long wait time if you walk in.
If you do not have a valid Medicare Card, Barrymore Medical Centre can bill patients directly for their consultation. Private paying consultations begin at $50.00 for a standard consultation. All private consultations are payable on the day. Longer consultations and procedures attract a higher fee.
Private consultations fees are also applicable for Employment Medicals, License Assessments and University Reports as well as other forms needing to be signed by a General Practitioner as these services are non rebatable from Medicare.
Appointments with Dr. Ati Hanafiah, Dr. Erika Mustika and Dr. Aziz Ali incur fee with a $30 GAP fee for all patients over the age of 15 years old who do not hold a current concession card. For all new patients booking an appointment with Dr Evgeny Afanasyev, appointments will incur fee $30 GAP fee and a deposit of $30 is required for all appointments.
All other appointments between the hours of 9.00am-5.00pm on weekdays are bulk billed for existing patients. Any appointments from 5.00pm on a week day incur a fee with a $30 GAP fee. All appointments on a weekend and public holidays incur a fee with $30 GAP fee.
Barrymore Medical Centre is accepting new patients. Please note a fee is payable on the day with a $30 GAP may be applicable for the initial visit regardless of the appointment time.

Telehealth Consultations
Telehealth consultations are available at Barrymore Medical Centre.
All Telehealth Consultations are available to patients who meet the current Medicare criteria, please contact the clinic to find out if you are eligible and will require prepayment from 1st Nov 2023. Please contact the clinic for further details on 03 9333 5943
Non eligible patients will be required to pay for the consultation which will be a $50.00 fee. This fee is non-rebatable by Medicare. All Telehealth consultations require pre-payment prior to the appointment.
Please be advised these eligibility requirements are Medicare legislation.
As with a face-to-face appointment, your appointment may run late. Ensure you have plenty of time either side of the scheduled appointment and keep your device close by if you are expecting a phone or video call. If you haven’t heard from your doctor for 30 minutes since the appointment time, call the reception team at the medical practice to check that your appointment is going ahead as planned.
Appointment cancellation/ no show policy
If you can no longer attend the appointment, please contact the clinic on 03 9333 5943 or email us on reception@barrymoremedicalcentre.com.au to cancel.
Please note a fee of $20.00 may apply if you cancel less than 2 hours prior to your appointment or fail to attend your appointment.
New Patients
If you are new to the clinic and would like to register as a patient, you can do so by filling out the New Patient Information form online.

It is policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff and comply with Privacy Act.

Zero Tolerance Policy
Barrymore Medical Centre has a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive and abusive behavior directed to staff and practitioners of the centre.
Our staff come to work to care for others and are not to become victims of violence, threatening behavior, physical, verbal, racial abuse or discrimination.
If you are violent or abusive in any way towards our staff, we have the right to refuse to treat you.
Any patient or visitor who treats any member of staff in this way will be removed from the premises and will be reported to Police and may face prosecution.
Communication Services
Our practice provides a health service that accommodates a diverse multicultural population including those with disability.
Our practice encourages patients to utilise the free Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) and AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) services for patients who are deaf.
Should you require alternative modes of communication during your GP or nurse appointment at Barrymore Medical Centre e.g. Translator interpreter services (TIS), National Auslan Interpreter Booking Service (NABS) or National Relay Services (NRS) please advise our Reception staff at the time of booking so arrangements can be made.
